Tiburón Golf Club named among Golf World’s “100 Best Golf Shops”

NAPLES, Fla. (Feb. 17, 2012) – For the eighth time in the last 11 years, Tiburón Golf Club, located at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort, Naples has been selected as one of the “100 Best Golf Shops” by Golf World magazine. For 27 years, Golf World has published its selection of the “100 Best Golf Shops” – a collection of private, resort, public and off-course shops that have excelled in retail operations.

The new list appears in select copies of the Jan. 30 issue of Golf World. Of the 28 states represented on the list, California had the most shops with 16; Florida is second with 14 followed by Arizona with 11. To be considered for the annual list, golf shops submitted entries to the magazine. The winning shops were then chosen based on three criteria, each weighted equally:

• Revenue per square foot and per round of golf played compared with shops in the same category.
• Appearance of layout and product displays
• Evaluation of a shop’s successful promotions and recent initiatives within the last year

Tiburón Golf Club, which opened in 2002, was one of five golf shops recognized in the “100 Best Golf Shops” in the resort category. In 2010 the combined revenue of the 100 Best Shops was more than $200 million.
