Builders Design selected for interior design of two models at Tidewater Preserve
BRADENTON, Fla. (Sept. 15, 2011) – WCI Communities has selected Builders Design to create the interiors for two model homes at Tidewater Preserve, the 373-acre gated community along the Manatee River with waterfront, boat-ready homesites.
The award-winning Maryland-based design firm will capture the lifestyle of the Bradenton community through its interior design of the Agostino, the largest single-family home at Tidewater Preserve, and the Ruffino, a three-bedroom grand villa.
Joe Duffus, president of Builders Design, said both models will embody the community’s vibrancy and lifestyle and create a sense of place – one that celebrates its waterfront setting and amenities, including boating, tennis, riverfront walking and biking trails, and a planned clubhouse with fitness center, resort-style pool and sand volleyball court.
“The lifestyle at Tidewater Preserve is amazing, and we really want to showcase it,” said Duffus. “Throughout both models, visitors will see tennis rackets, swimsuits with goggles, and boating and fishing gear. We even included kayaks in the garages.”
With 2,718-square feet of living space, the three-bedroom, three-bath Agostino is one of three single-family home floor plans available in Tidewater Preserve’s Classic Series. Builders Design has chosen a palette of indigo blue and vibrant aqua, accented with creamy neutrals.
“We wanted to introduce new color combinations,” said Duffus. “We’re the only design firm in the industry that uses trend forecasting from a color and merchandising perspective.”
The home’s transitional design will be conveyed with a beach chic feel, embraced by the driftwood and cinnamon-toned woods and wrought-iron finishes. Hardwood accents on the tray ceilings will provide cohesiveness throughout the open floor plan shared by the great room, kitchen and dining room; fans and chandeliers will also reference the coastal theme.
“Some of these treatments create architectural features that add ambience,” said Duffus.
As part of the design process, the team has envisioned a health-conscious family that enjoys kayaking, running and tennis and has a son attending the University of Florida – evident in one of the Gator-themed guest rooms. The gourmet kitchen will showcase healthy snacks purchased at a local health food store and farmers market.
“We like visitors to walk into our model homes and see things that resonate with the region,” said Duffus.
The Agostino has a den, powder room and an owner’s suite with his-and-her walk-in closets and dual vanities, a tub, shower and water closet in the bathroom. Its 3,994 total square feet incorporates a “Florida basement,” which homebuyers can convert into a one-car garage.
The floor plan is priced from $329,990. The furnished model is expected to be completed in November.
Sunflower yellow will be combined with rich berry, lavender and ebony accents and brushed-nickel finishes in the Ruffino, the largest of four Grand Villa homes at Tidewater Preserve. The three-bedroom single-family detached villa offers 2,279 square feet of air-conditioned living space, a formal dining area, den and living room designed to fulfill multiple uses.
“It’s a vibrant color palette that’s classic and on the fun side. There will be espresso wood tones with crisp white wood,” said Duffus.
Wood molding will also be used as accents on walls in the guest bedrooms and on the ceiling in the owner’s retreat, which offers a large bathroom with a garden tub, glass-enclosed shower, dual sinks and a combined his-and-her walk-in closet.
The Ruffino features 3,063 total square feet, including a covered entry, two-car garage and lanai, where visitors will see a boating adventure in the planning stages. “There’s a carrier in the lanai set up for picnics at local beaches,” said Duffus.
The kitchen offers a walk-in pantry, free-standing island breakfast bar, granite countertops and a Whirlpool appliance package.
The model is expected to be completed in November. The Ruffino floor plan is priced from $259,990 with standard interior features that include tray and coffered ceilings, 18-inch ceramic tile, carpeted flooring and tiled showers. Each grand villa also has a tile roof, security system and complete landscaping package with zoned sprinkler system.
With a location convenient to Gulf of Mexico beaches, Tidewater Preserve features approximately two miles of frontage along the Manatee River, multiple lakes and a 50-acre lagoon.
Tidewater Preserve’s Port & Court Club offers canoe and kayak opportunities as well as boat slips, a three-court tennis complex, resident activities and special events. The planned River Club will offer additional recreational amenities and gathering spaces, including a fitness center, resort-style pool and sand volleyball court.
Tidewater Preserve, a boating community, offers new homes in Bradenton, Florida, with carriage homes, grand villa and Classic Series single-family homes starting at $184,990. Located just 15 miles from Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport, the nearby I-75 corridor provides easy access to numerous arts and entertainment venues in Sarasota, as well as the professional sporting events and international shopping in the Tampa, Clearwater and St. Petersburg area.
