With 11 amazing WCI communities dotting the coastlines of Florida, it is the lifestyle that our Residents and Members enjoy "inside the gates" of which we are most proud. Whether our Residents love golf, boating, tennis, spas, working out, enjoying nature walks or dining, there's a WCI Club that has it there for you! However, our Clubs just wouldn't be what they are without the remarkable Residents and Members coming out to enjoy it all!
So, what is life like as a WCI Resident or Member? This month we put the spotlight on Paul and Debra, Residents at The Colony Golf & Bay Club to get a glimpse of life in their shoes.
What is a typical day like at The Colony? One of the best features of The Colony is that it doesn't have a typical day. There are a great variety of activities to pursue depending on one's mood and level of energy. The choices range from sunbathing, beach or poolside, to tennis or golf. We try to start each day with some form exercise at the spa or long walk with our dog. The major decision of the day is where to have dinner. Again the variety of quality restaurants on-site as well as within 20 minutes of the Club seems endless.
What are your favorite activities? My favorite activities are golf and fishing the ponds in the evening. Debra on the other hand enjoys participating in or organizing any event that will facilitate people getting together in a social or educational venue. When possible my preference is always golf, Debra devotes her time to mahjong and arranging social activities for the golf and tennis widows.
What do you love about the area?
Southwest Florida offers, in our opinion, an ideal climate, particularly if you are fortunate to live on the water. The location of The Colony between Ft. Myers and Naples is ideal with the airport being only a 20-minute drive away.
What is your favorite room in your home?
We are blessed with a 180-degree view of the Estero Bay and the Gulf from our great room and lanai.
What made you choose life at The Colony? Selecting The Colony for our home was an easy decision after evaluating the other communities in the area. Curb appeal is very important to us, after five years of driving into The Colony you enter another world of manicured landscapes and housing that is in harmony with the area. The first thing we noticed about The Colony is you get the feeling of open spaces. The other communities we looked at were densely populated with little or no buffer zones.
When all is said and done The Colony is unique because of the people who live here. We have a community of active, friendly and interesting neighbors.
