The Colony Golf & Country Club hosted 13th annual WCI Golf Club Challenge

The Colony Golf & Country Club in Bonita Springs recently hosted the 13th annual WCI Golf Club Challenge. Members from The Colony and four other WCI golf clubs – including Tiburón and Hammock Bay in Naples, Pelican Preserve in Fort Myers and Venetian in Venice – competed for the traveling trophy and championship title.

The 10-person teams included eight club members, four men and four women, and two club golf professionals, who played a best-of-two-ball combined-score format.

The Colony Golf & Country Club team edged out the 2010 champions from Tiburón Golf Club to win the challenge on their home turf. The Colony golf professionals Craig Morton and Bob Radunz led team members Dennis Tepas, Jack Riley, Brad Werner, John Howard, Dina Clifford, Joan Priory, Cynthia Hile and Nancy Blay to victory with a total team score of 245.

Hammock Bay Golf & Country Club came in at a close second with a team score of 253. Longest drive winners from The Colony were Brad Werner and Dina Clifford, who also won the women’s closest-to-the-pin contest. The men’s closest-to-the-pin winner was Tim McCoy from Hammock Bay.
